Obituary: Colleen J. Lizotte, 91, of Bethel

Colleen was an avid ceramic maker and instructor. She was active in the Bethel Senior Citizen Center and a member of St. Thomas Church.

Colleen J. (Earle) Lizotte, 91, of Bethel, CT, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, June 4, 2017. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Lizotte, Jr.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CN to the late Alfred J. and Estella Wamboldt Earle, Colleen was raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where she was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She married Edward J. Lizotte on Nov. 23, 1944 and they moved to Danbury in 1946.

A former employee with Barden Corp., Colleen most recently worked for Davis & Geck, retiring in 1975.Colleen was an avid ceramic maker and instructor. She was active in the Bethel Senior Citizen Center and a member of St. Thomas Church in Bethel.

Colleen and her husband enjoyed dancing to Big Bank music. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed having her family for Sunday dinner. Besides her husband and parents, Colleen was predeceased by her grandchildren: Jill and Neil Meade; and her siblings: Alfred, Lonnie, Everett, Audrey, Agnes and Arthur.

Survivors include her children: L. Holly Oliveira and her husband, Richard, of Marlow, NH; David E. Lizotte and his wife, Miriam, of Bethel; Edward "Rusty" Lizotte and his wife, Victoria, of Raleigh, NC; and Shelley Woodward and her husband, Edward, of Columbia, SC. Her grandchildren: Amy Oliveira, Mandy Woodward; Abigail and Ariana Lizotte; Dina and Eric Jones; Steven and Allison Reeve; PJ and Kim Picard. Her great-grandchildren: Alyssa Jones, Natia Jones, EJ Jones, Emma Reeve, Dallas Picard, Aaliyah Picard, Zachary Oliveira, Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 6pm on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.Friends will be received from 3pm-6pm on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Colleen's memory may be made to St. June Children's Hospital,. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.For further information or to express your condolences on line, go to www.thegreenfuneralhome.com
