Obituary: Sylvia V. Duff, 83, of Bethel

Sylvia V. Duff, 83, of Bethel, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Mr. Michael Duff.

Mrs. Duff was born on January 9, 1934 in Chile; a daughter of the late Oscar and Hilda (Morales) Pilgrim.
A resident of Bethel for the past 50 years, Mrs. Duff was the owner of the Bethel Mail Service. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church of Bethel as well as a volunteer for her church and Americares.

Mrs. Duff is survived by her husband of 57 years, Michael Duff and their children: Michael Duff and his wife, Kim; Oscar Duff and his wife, Danielle; William Duff and his wife, Dasha; Dan Duff and his parther, Laura; Sarah Brooker and her husband, Kenny and Patricia Avallone and her husband, Michael. Mrs. Duff is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: John, Michael, Matthew, Kaylyn, Kate, Mary and Rebecca. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Mrs. Duff is survived by 5 sisters: Hilda, Yvonne, Marisol, Ingrid and Josephine.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duff was predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Duff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary Church; 26 Dodgingtown Road, Bethel. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel. Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury.
