• Century-old Newtown home severely damaged in Sunday morning fire, officials say (ctpost.com) — Bethel firefighters were among those called in to help battle a difficult early-morning house fire on Boggs Hill Road in Newtown, where a century-old home was heavily damaged. Crews faced low temperatures, downed live power lines, ice and equipment issues, but officials reported no injuries while the Newtown Fire Marshal continues investigating the cause.
