Police: Man Stole From St. Mary's Offering Boxes

A Danbury man confessed to stealing $50 from offering boxes at the Church of St. Mary Saturday, according to reports from the Bethel Police Department.

Police say Andy Durran, 33, of Danbury broke into several offering boxes at about 2:00 p.m. Saturday and fled the scene on foot when officers responded to a call about the alleged crime. He was later seen on a bus, according to reports, and police caught him after a short foot chase.

Durran was charged with 6th-degree Larceny, 3rd-degree Criminal Mischief and Interfering with a Police Officer. His court date was July 29.
