State Police Nab Bethel Woman On DUI Charges After Wrong-Way Crash
State Police are investigating a collision involving a Bethel driver they say was traveling the wrong way on Route 8.
BETHEL, CT — State Police have charged a Bethel woman with driving under the influence following her wrong-way collision in Seymour.
Troopers assigned to Troop 1 in Bethany, along with EMS, were dispatched around 12:30 Sunday morning to the crash on the southbound side of Route 8 near Exit 20.
Police said a Bethel woman, 55, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when she struck a Jeep, traveling southbound. The Bethel motorist reported no injuries. The Jeep driver reported possible injuries, but declined medical assistance at the scene.

The Lexus driver failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, according to police. She was taken into custody at Troop 1 HQ, where she was processed and charged with DUI, traveling the wrong was on a divided highway, and second-degree reckless endangerment.
The Bethel motorist was later released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled for arraignment at Derby Superior Court, on Feb. 16.
