Weekend Weather: How Much Rain Will Bethel Get?

The good news (because we need it) is that rain is in the forecast for the Bethel area. We'll let you know how much we are expecting.

BETHEL, CT — We need the rain, this we all know, and we’re going to get some over the next few days but nowhere near enough to put a real dent in our current drought status in Connecticut. Since it’s going to be cold and cloudy through Monday night in Connecticut we might as well see some heavy rain right? Well, we’re only going to see showers and most of the heavier rain, if you want to call it that, is confined to midday Friday and afternoon.

Between Friday and Monday night we may see about a half to three quarters of an inch of rain in total and again the sun doesn’t make its return until Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, “I hope you're having a great day! Plan on rainy and chilly weather for the middle of the day today! Highs today will only be in the 50s but it's going to feel even colder with the wind. Some scattered hit or miss showers tonight through Sunday. None of the days look like a complete washout with the heaviest rain expected for the middle of the day today.”
