Amity High School To Dismiss Early Due To Downed Power Lines
The school will dismiss as soon as buses are available. A local road was also closed due to downed power lines.

BETHWOOD, CT — Amity Regional High School will dismiss early on Monday due to downed power lines.
The district released the following statement:
"Due to downed powerlines in Woodbridge the high school is dismissing students as soon as busses become available. If you wish to pick up your student please do not do so till 11:30 AM."

Woodbridge Road was closed at Route 114 and Pease Road due to a downed tree on the power lines, according to the state Department of Transportation. The incident was reported at 10:17 a.m.
United Illuminating reported that 58 customers were without power Woodbridge as of noon.

Center Road will be closed between Amity Road and Pease Road for several hours, police said in an update around noon.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
