Teen Accused Of Dumping Construction Waste By Woodbridge Playground
Debris and furniture had been discovered in the woods near the playground, according to police.
WOODBRIDGE, CT — An 18-year-old Orange resident is accused of illegally dumping materials near a local playground.
Police Chief Ronald Smith said police were patrolling Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. in the area of the Pease Road playground. Police had been alerted to illegal dumping at the site, and on two previous occasions, officers located construction debris and couches in woods near the playground, according to Smith.
Officer Joseph Kubik observed a truck filled with construction material enter the parking lot, and he conducted a motor vehicle stop.

An investigation revealed the operator, an 18-year-old Orange resident, had been illegally dumping material at the park to avoid paying money at the transfer station, police said.
The teen was charged with littering on public land, misuse of plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
