Celebrate Burnt Bakery's First Birthday in Woodbridge

The bakery turns 1 on Nov. 12 and will be holding a celebration.

Burnt Bakery in Woodbridge is celebrating its one-year anniversary on Nov. 14.

The bakery located at 214 Amity Road will be holding an event all day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Burnt was started by Rebecca Colburn, a Beacon Falls resident who has been baking since the age of 3 with her grandmother. Colburn, 28, told the New Haven Register that the name of the bakery is her idea of a play on words as she considers her products to be well done and the word “burn” is part of her last name.

Burnt will also be supporting Toys for Tots at the event and those attending are encouraged to bring a new or unwrapped toy to the event.

On Yelp, the bakery has received a 4.5 star rating with reviewers praising both the baked goods and the decor at the bakery.

“Starting my first bakery has been of course exciting, but slightly overwhelming as well. Overall it has been a great experience so far and I am looking forward to many more years of getting to know everyone in this community as we serve them delicious baked goods in our new home,” Colburn said.
