Local Hero: Carol May Quietly Makes Life Better In Bethany/Woodbridge

BETHANY/WOODBRIDGE, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Retired teacher runs a nonprofit for Veterans and police/ firefighters

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

She works non-stop to provide necessary home repairs to keep veterans retired / Police /FF in their homes. The organization is House of Heroes CT. She is always on the phone solving problems to keep them safe, including providing handicap ramps, stair repairs and other accessibility problems. She helps those who can no longer help themselves

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

That she inspires change to help those who served and gives hope to everyone else around her
