BETHANY, CT — A motorcyclist is dead after he hit a deer and then was struck by a car, according to state police.

Police responded to a call reporting the accident at 9:39 p.m. on Monday at Route 69 in the area of Wooding Hill Road in Bethany.

A 2000 Harley Davidson was traveling north on Route 69 near Wooding Hill Road when it struck a deer, throwing the rider from the motorcycle.

A 2009 Subaru Impreza driving on Route 69 then struck the motorcyclist, who was lying in the road.

The motorcyclist was identified as Philip Labonte, 37, of Thomaston. He was declared dead at the scene of the accident by medical personnel.
