New Superintendent Of Schools Appointed In Woodbridge
The Woodbridge Board of Education unanimously approved the new superintendent for the school district.
WOODBRIDGE, CT — Christopher Montini has been appointed as the new superintendent of schools for the Woodbridge School District following the unanimous endorsement of the Woodbridge Board of Education on Wednesday.
The school board said in a news release that Montini’s work “in the field of education is impressive.”
Montini, who has served as Superintendent of Naugatuck Public Schools since 2020, brings more than two decades of involvement in public education. His tenure in Naugatuck also included service as assistant superintendent of schools, principal, assistant principal, and classroom teacher.

Montini earned his Executive Leadership Certificate through UCONN. In addition, Montini has a sixth-year degree in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Reading, a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, all from Southern Connecticut State University.

He is a member of CAPSS (Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents, SCASA (South Central Area Superintendents’ Association), ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development), and AASA (American Association of School Administrators). Mr. Montini has presented at the Connecticut Reading Association Conference and has co-authored “Marrying Literature Circles with the CMT.”
In his spare time, he has been an active board member and coach on the Milford Little League Board.
The Woodbridge Board retained the services of NESDEC (New England School Development Council) and was guided in its search by Christine Syriac. She gathered perspectives from many stakeholders before writing the Leadership Profile that guided the Board in its search for a new leader. The Board received and reviewed 39 applications. Finalists were interviewed with Montini emerging as the best fit for the Woodbridge School District.
