Woodbridge Homeowner Confronted Catalytic Converter Thieves: Police

A homeowner confronted two people who were stealing a catalytic converter from a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A homeowner confronted two men who were stealing a catalytic converter from his vehicle, according police. The incident occurred Tuesday at 3 p.m. when the victim heard suspicious noises outside of his home.

The resident saw an unfamiliar car along with two people, one of whom was using a power tool to cut the catalytic converter off his vehicle parked in the driveway, police said.

The homeowner confronted the two people, who were clad in all black attire with hoods and face masks. One of the two brandished what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at the homeowner prior to fleeing in an awaiting vehicle occupied by a third suspect, as the video below shows.

Police cautioned residents about approaching suspects involved in potential criminal activity and reminded them to call 911 and report any suspicious activity without delay.
