Branford 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places

BRANFORD, CT — On Nov. 7, Branford residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: the town council and school board.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

Town Clerk

The lone candidate is Lisa E. Arpin, a Republican.

Town Treasurer

The Democratic candidate is Kurt Schwanfelder and the Republican candidate is Deborah Conklin.

Board of Education Full Term

The Democratic candidates are: Shawn Tiernan and Judith Barron and the Republican candidates are: Kevin Reiss and Adam Greenberg.

Board of Education to fill a vacancy

The Democratic candidate is Ram Shrestha and the Republican candidate is Laura Kiernan Troidle.

Board of Assessment Appeals

The Democratic candidate is Joseph Fazzino and the Republican candidate is Jason Driscoll.

Constables

The Democratic candidates are: Francis Walsh, Nancy McCormack, Kevin Coughlin, and Maryann Amore, Republican candidates include: George David Wells, Richard Aitro, George Weted and Dennis Nardella.

RTM District 1

Democratic candidates are: Judith Barron, Mark McCall, Kevin Coughlin, and Alisa Waterman, and Republican candidates include: Shannen Sharkey, Lindsay Marottoli Greenberg, Frank Twohill, and Tricia Anderson.

RTM District 2

Democratic candidates are: Joshua Brook and Peter Hentschel, Republican candidates include: Stephen Chamberlain and Chris Hynes.

RTM District 3

Democratic candidates are: Adrian Boneberger and Tom Keefe, Republican candidates include: Peter Black and Ralph Murray.

RTM District 4

Democratic candidates are: Dan Adelman, Shahida Soomro, Ram C. Shrestha, and Maryann Amore, Republican candidates include: Teryl Imperato, Victoria Verderame, Chiran Neupane, and Karen Hesse.

RTM District 5

Democratic candidates are: John Hartwell, Abigail E. Adams, Tracy Everson, and Alex Larsson, Republican candidates include: Carolyn Sires, Dennis T. Flanigin, Ray Ingraham, and Kyle M. Nelson.
