Branford Again Holding “Give a Cop the Bird!” To Help Needy

Several Branford Police Officers will be at Big Y collecting frozen turkeys as well as non-perishable foods.

BRANFORD, CT - Saturday, November 23 from 9:00a.m-3:00p.m., BPD will give residents the opportunity to “Give a Cop the Bird!”

This is the fifth year of this successful event and is held in cooperation with Branford Big Y, 1075 West Main Street and benefits Branford Food Pantry.

This event helps local Branford families for the upcoming holiday season. Several Branford Police Officers will be at Big Y collecting frozen turkeys as well as non-perishable foods, such as peanut butter, jelly or jam, stew, tuna fish, juices, cereal, hearty soups, canned chicken or pork, hash and other meat-containing foods.

Non-profit Branford Food Pantry serves the Town of Branford by providing weekly groceries to families in need, and full turkey dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Community Dining Room located on Harrison Avenue also goes above and beyond to serve the community by providing food and support to the central Connecticut shoreline.
