BRANFORD, CT — The Branford ALDI is set to open its doors in June, officials have confirmed to Patch.

The company declined to give a specific date, but Chris Daniels, ALDI South Windsor Division Vice President, said more information will be released "as the grand opening approaches."

Branford town officials told the New Haven Register that construction on the building — which is located on Route 1 across from the I-95 Exit 53 ramp — is nearing completion, and only five of the 21 required inspections remain to be completed.

Job openings at the new store are starting to pop up: According to ALDI's website, the company is hiring full- and part-time store associates, as well as a full-time store manager trainee — a position that prepares employees to run their own store.

The German grocery store chain first proposed opening a location in Branford in December 2019, BranfordSeven reported. The town's planning and zoning commission approved ALDI's proposal in June 2020, according to Zip06.
