BRANFORD, CT - The town of Branford went above and beyond Saturday collecting food for those less fortunate.

According to the Branford police: “189 turkeys and over 1,200 lbs of food! Branford, you really came through to help out today! We hear that’s the most we’ve ever collected at this event.

“We want to thank Branford Big Y management and employees for all they did, from collecting money to putting together bags of food. The Branford Fire Department came by and donated. Even a recent winner of a Big Y gift card from WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News used it to donate.
