Branford Election Results 2025: Winner Revealed In First Selectman Race

UPDATE: The Connecticut Democratic Party said that Josh Brooks is the new first selectman, defeating GOP candidate Jeff Vailette.

"Branford flips red to blue with Josh Brooks winning the First Selectman seat!" the Connecticut Democratic Party said.

Brooks received 4,876 votes and Vailette received 4,621 votes, according to the Secretary of State's website.

For Selectman, Democrat Raymond E. Dunbar received 5,164 votes and Victoria Verderame, a Republican, received 4,221 votes.

BRANFORD, CT — The polls have now closed as Branford residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions in town.
