UPDATE: The Connecticut Democratic Party said that Josh Brooks is the new first selectman, defeating GOP candidate Jeff Vailette.

"Branford flips red to blue with Josh Brooks winning the First Selectman seat!" the Connecticut Democratic Party said.

Brooks received 4,876 votes and Vailette received 4,621 votes, according to the Secretary of State's website.

For Selectman, Democrat Raymond E. Dunbar received 5,164 votes and Victoria Verderame, a Republican, received 4,221 votes.

The Democratic candidates are Amanda Henry and Donna Laich and the Republican candidates are Meaghan DeLucia and Laura Troidle


Board of Education To Fill Vacancy for Four Years, Vote for One

The Democratic candidate is Daniel Hally and the Republican candidate is Alex Palluzzi, Jr.


Board of Education To Fill Vacancy for Two Years, Vote for Up to Two

The Democratic candidates are Isaak Aronson and Harlan Fichtenholtz and the Republican candidates are Emily Johnson and Erin (Yiran) Gu. The petitioning candidate is Rebecca Anne Cudgma
