Branford Man Sentenced to 2 Years for Fatal DUI Crash

Vincent Mauro was sentenced on Friday regarding the August 2013 accident his wife died in.

Vincent Mauro, 32, of Branford, who drove drunk and crashed his vehicle, killing his wife, on Aug. 18, 2013, was sentenced to 2 years in prison on Friday, according to the New Haven Register.

Mauro made a deal when he entered a no contest plea to second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle back on March 4, which meant he agreed to serve two years rather than go to trial, the Register reported.

The fatal crash happened in August 2013. Mauro’s blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit at the time.
