Branford Parks & Rec Afterschool Workers Shouted Out As Star Students
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Branford.

BRANFORD, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Victor Amatori Jr and Colin Sheehan who nominated Riley (College), Haley (College), Alexandra (recent college grad), Tiffanie (college), and Jaedon (high school grad) of Branford.
How do you know the star local student?
They are the Branford Parks and Recreation Department's exceptional Afternoon Adventures afterschool workers.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Riley, Haley, Tiffany, Alexandra and Jaedon possess a uniqueness about themselves, when it comes to working with the children in our Parks and Recreation Programs and truthfully, all of our events that they are willing to work at. They refuse to say "No" when they are asked to help out and interact flawlessly with each of the age groups they come in contact with. They work often and possess the ability to maintain a high level of success in their respective classrooms at school.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Riley has been a member of the Parks and Recreation Department since June of 2021, supervising summer camps, working in our afterschool programs and special events while maintaining a high level of academia at the University of New Haven on the Dean's List. Tiffanie has been a camp counselor with Branford Parks and Recreation starting in June of 2022 and an overseer of the Afternoon Adventures Program while studying her way toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Hayley became a Summer Camp Counselor in July of 2022 and with the afterschool program while balancing her studies at the University of New Haven toward a degree in the field of Psychology. Alexandra graduated this past May from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Natural Sciences with a major in Psychology and a minor in History and Education. Jaedon graduated from Branford High School and has been an instrumental part of of the Branford Parks and Recreation Department's afterschool programs, special events and the Little Explorers Summer Camp. They form a great team with any and all of the programs which they come in contact with here at Branford Parks and Recreation!
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Riley Haley, Alexandra, Tiffanie and Jaedon!
