Rash of Thefts From Boats, Including Motors in Branford: Police

Police: "We have had reports of stolen outboard motors and are currently investigating. Contact BPD if you see any suspicious activity."

BRANFORD, CT - Just because it’s not boating season it doesn’t mean boat owners should be lax about keeping an eye on their vessels.

On social media, Branford police say there have been a number of thefts from boats the past few weeks.

“Now that summer ...and boating season ..have both come to an end, we want to remind everyone to make periodic checks of their vessels during the off-season.

“We have had some reports of stolen outboard motors and are currently investigating. As always, please contact BPD if you see any suspicious activity—and please don’t forget to lock your cars also! Remember to take your keys (and spare sets for other vehicles) and valuable belongings with you!”
