Branford Star Student Athlete Skylar Shines On, Off Field

BRANFORD, CT — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched Help Patch Spotlight CT Student Athletes Who Are Also Good Kids, an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Skylar not only is an outstanding student who challenges herself academically but she also attends two High schools both Branford and Educational center for the arts where she pursues a theatre program in addition to the rigorous academics at Branford High. She manages her time between the 2 schools she is a class officer and plays on the field hockey team and lacrosse teams. Skylar is always looking for ways to better herself and her school and has recently started working with the school clinician on starting up a new mental health club at Branford High. Skylar also works part time at a local deli all while maintaining high honors 2 schools and sports.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

Skylar gives 100 percent effort to all she does even if she is not the star player she still puts forth her best effort and always wants to get better.
