 (1958) a supernatural romantic comedy directed by Richard Quine, 
starring James Stewart and Kim Novak. A Manhattan witch (Novak) falls in
 love with a publisher (Stewart) after casting a spell on him that 
obliges him to dump his fiancée and pursue her instead. The supporting 
cast features Jack Lemmon, Ernie Kovacs, Hermione Gingold, Elsa 
Lanchester and Janice Rule. The film is considered Stewart's final role 
as a romantic lead.

Tabor Lutheran Church

Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford will host Silver Bells: A Holiday Handbell Concert presented by Shoreline Ringers on Sunday, December 21 at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Shoreline Ringers is one of Connecticut’s premier community handbell ensembles with a mission to educate audiences about the musical art of handbell ringing. The concert will consist of Christmas classics, inventive reimaginings of beloved holiday hymn tunes, and a bit of something for everyone who is looking to get into the holiday spirit!
Shoreline Ringers, directed by Andy Wallace, ring on five and a half octaves of Malmark Handbells, seven octaves of Malmark handchimes, and have added two octaves of Schulmerich Silver Melody Bells this season. Ringers from across Eastern and central Connecticut come together to play a variety of challenging music. Shoreline Ringers has performed as featured guests at Carnegie Hall, Handbell Musicians of America national and regional events, the Boston Handbell Festival, and with the United States Coast Guard Band and New Haven Symphony Orchestra.
The concert is free and open to the public, and a freewill offering will be collected to benefit the Shoreline Ringers and Tabor Handbell Choir. Baked goods will also be available for purchase, with proceeds going to the Tabor Handbell Choir , which has been invited to a handbell festival in Germany.

We invite you to join Tabor Lutheran Church and other shoreline faith communities for an ecumenical Blue Christmas Service on December 21, at 7 p.m. in Tabor's sanctuary.While Christmas is often seen as a time of joy, togetherness, and celebration, for many, it can be a season marked by sadness and reflection. A “Blue Christmas” service acknowledges this reality, offering space for those grappling with loneliness, loss, or painful memories to process and find meaning amidst the season. For some, the absence of a loved one—a parent, partner, child, or friend—casts a long shadow over the festivities. Others may feel isolated, struggling with mental health, financial hardships, or strained relationships. The stark contrast between their inner turmoil and the world’s outward cheer can deepen feelings of alienation.
Blue Christmas services or observances have become a meaningful way for communities to acknowledge this pain, offering quiet reflection, hope, and a safe space to grieve. Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford will offer a Live Nativity Family Christmas Eve&nbsp;Service at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 in the sanctuary at Tabor, which is located at 45 Tabor Drive in Branford, CT. 

The Live Nativity Family Service will feature a Christmas Pageant performed by members of the Tabor Christian Community Preschool, and will include live animals. The service will also include the celebration of holy communion, and will culminate in the singing of “Silent Night” by candlelight, with LED candles provided for all ages to participate. 

Come celebrate the reason for the season with special music, the singing of carols, candlelight, and more, right here in Branford. All are welcome!

Branford Scouting (Cub Pack 633, Troop 633/1633 & Venturing 633)

Branford Scouting has been building citizenship, leadership skills, and a spirit of adventure in youth for over 10 years, serving ages 5–20 through four dynamic programs. Through experiential learning, Branford scouts experience adventures from ice climbing to sailing in the Florida Keys, with campouts all year round for our older scouts. Our commitment to country is reflected in where we meet—serving our veterans at Branford’s VFW Post 12106—and through meaningful experiences like our recent trip to Washington, D.C., where scouts participated in the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and presented a wreath in honor of our fallen heroes. Our younger Cub Scouts also demonstrate patriotism by marching in parades and placing flags at cemeteries, just like their older peers. They enjoy fun and discovery at weekly meetings and through memorable outings, such as an overnight at the Norwalk Maritime Center, sleeping aboard the World War II battleship USS Massachusetts, and exploring the EcoTarium museum. This year, our Cubs will experience an evening at the New England Air Museum. Branford Scouting services the town of Branford and well beyond.
