Eversource says storm damage is "so severe crews face traffic jams and impassable roads," as all of Branford is again plunged into darkness.

BRANFORD, CT — Nearly every single Eversource customer in Branford is in the dark Thursday night after a violent storm ravaged the town. There 16,491 homes and businesses without electricity, representing 99.41 percent of all utility customers.
Eversource said late Thursday night that it's "working to help clear roads and make downed power lines safe in the hardest hit communities - including Branford where the company is deploying a mobile command unit."
"In Branford, the damage is so severe our crews are facing traffic jams and impassable roads," Eversource Vice President of Electric Operations Mike Hayhurst said. "We’re working alongside first responders there to help clear blocked roads and gain access to damage locations so crews can begin making necessary repairs and restore power.”
