Former Branford Basketball Coach Will Be Honored By CIAC

Tom Murray, who used to coach basketball at Branford High School, will be honored at the CAS-CIAC Hall of Honor dinner next month.

BRANFORD, CT — Former Branford High School basketball coach Tom Murray will be honored at next month's CAS-CIAC Hall of Honor dinner.

The Connecticut Association of Schools and the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference are hosting the dinner to honor people who have "made significant contributions to CAS-CIAC," officials said — and Murray is among those individuals.

In addition to his time coaching BHS basketball, Murray is assistant director of the CIAC Basketball Tournament and a longtime member of the CIAC Basketball Committee.

Murray and seven others actually make up the 2019-20 Hall of Honor Inductees, but the dinner has been pushed back multiple times — presumably because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, the ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 26 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. Tickets are $50 and will be available via a link on the CAS-CIAC website.
