GoFundMe For Branford Family Whose Home Was Destroyed In Storm
North Branford teacher Jocelyn Booth, her husband and children escaped unharmed, but are now staying with friends, their future uncertain.

BRANFORD, CT — The Booth family's Branford home was destroyed in last week's violent tornado-driven storm that left most of the town without power for days. A tree crashed into the house while the whole family was home, but everyone managed to escape unharmed. A blessing in a year otherwise filled with hardships.
According to family, "...after the tree knocked down their chimney and caved in the roof, which left their living room looking like a war zone, the storm raged on and rained on their house all night. Thus, the house has been condemned by the town and declared a 'major disaster.'"

Now, the family of five, including mom Jocelyn, a North Branford Public Schools eighth grade special education teacher, dad Jason and kids ages 10, 12 and 14, are living with friends until they can move into a rental.

In the meantime, Jocelyn's sister Erin Brennan has created a GoFundMe for the family.
"Words cannot describe how grateful we are for their safety," Brennan wrote. "Unfortunately, the house did not fare as well."

Brennan said "wonderful friends" have provided the family a place to say for now until they move into a rental home as the "process of rebuilding begins."
"They still do not know if their house will be knocked down, and they have to start all over or if it can be fixed," Brennan wrote. "Either way, they have a long road ahead of them."
Brennan said, "So many friends and family members have reached out to them and their families and asked how they can help. There is so much love pouring out of everyone, it is so inspiring, I thought I could make an easy and seamless way for those who want to help to do so. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you in advance for any donation and I know the Booths do too."
