'Lagers for Heroes' Fundraising Effort At Coastal Wine & Spirits Raises Funds For Local Veterans

BRANFORD, CT — Friday, a local package store will present a check to the CT VFW Foundation following a successful fundraising campaign.

In May and June, Coastal Wine & Spirits joined forces with Yuengling Brewery to help raise money for local Connecticut Veterans and their families through their 'Lagers for Heroes' in-store fundraising campaign. All the donations raised go directly to help local veterans via a partnership with the CT VFW Foundation.

Through the "generosity of its consumers," Coastal Wine & Spirits raised $1,080, according to a release from Yuengling Brewery.

Lagers for Heroes was created to not only pay tribute to local veterans, but also help raise money and awareness through a partnership with the CT VFW Foundation through its in-store fundraising program.

"What’s unique about this campaign is that 100 percent of the proceeds stay here in Connecticut and help local veterans and their families in need of assistance," it's noted in a release from Yuengling.

Friday at 12:30 p.m., Coastal Wine & Spirits staff will gather at 103 N. Main St., to present a check to the CT VFW Foundation.

State VFW officials, local post members, sales team members from Star Distributing
and the Yuengling Brewery will be on hand to celebrate this occasion.
