'Mass Layoff' Of 208 At Branford-Based BioTech PhenomeX Inc.
In a letter dated Oct. 2, the Industrial Drive business advised state and local officials that of the 208 laid off, 36 are CT-based.
BRANFORD, CT — In a letter dated Oct. 2, Branford-based biotech PhenomeX, Inc. advised the state department of labor and the town that effective that very day, the first of 208 people would be out of work in what the company called a "mass layoff."
Of that number, 36 of those laid off are Connecticut-based staffers, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) letter reads.
In August, the company announced a merger with Bruker Corporation.
