Man Faces Heroin, Cocaine, Pot Charges: Branford PD

Search of vehicle revealed a bundle of heroin, over 5 ounces of marijuana and a scale. He also had 26 baggies of crack cocaine, police say.

BRANFORD, CT -A 23-year old New Haven man is facing several drug related charges for possessing heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana, police said late Wednesday.

On Monday, at 2:48 p.m., Officer Harrington was patrolling the Maple Street area and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The driver of the vehicle, Jovan Cepeda, 23, of New Haven, did not have a valid license and Harrington smelled marijuana, police said in a news release.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a bundle of heroin, over 5 ounces of marijuana and a scale, police said. Cepeda also had 26 baggies of crack cocaine on him, police added.

Cepeda was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on bond.
