Residents Can Use Branford Transfer Station For Some, Not All, Paint Disposal
There's some new regulations regarding the safe and legal disposal of paint products. Do you know what they are?

Beginning in July of this year, there's a new Connecticut law requiring the proper recycling of post-consumer architectural paint.
Under the new program, liquid paint can be taken to drop-off sites set up throughout the state by the paint industry. Some local transfer stations take paint-related items, but there are distinctions.
Here's how you can legally dispose of paint and paint-related products:
For any liquid paint, all types: bring to HazWaste Central, 90 Sargent Drive in New Haven or one of the drop off locations listed on the www.paintcare.org website or call (855) 724-6809 for information.
For empty paint cans/containers or completely dried or hardened paint: Branford residents can bring these items to the Branford Transfer Station.
HazWaste Central will be open every Saturday morning from 9am to noon until October 26th. They continue to take household hazardous waste like pesticides or oil-based paints from residents for free, and from small businesses by appointment.
