Obituary: Karl W. Augur, 56, of Branford

Karl worked many years as a skilled carpenter. He took much pride in his craft and was a proud member of the Carpenter's Union Local #24.

BRANFORD, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) Karl W. Augur, 56, of Branford, formerly of Northford, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 28, 2021.

Born in New Haven on July 9, 1965, he was the son of the late George H. Augur, Jr. and Mary Ann Savinelli Augur.

A 1983 graduate of North Branford High School, Karl worked as a Carpenter for RB Fitch, Dakota Builders, New Haven Partitions and Rose Construction. He took much pride in his craft and was a proud member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #24.

Karl loved snowmobiling and liked jet skiing on family vacations in New Hampshire. Karl was an avid hockey fan, Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan. He very much enjoyed watching his children play sports.

Father of Ryan and Meghan Augur. Brother of George H. Augur III and his wife Dana. Uncle of George H. Augur IV. He also leaves behind many other family and friends.

The visiting hours will be Monday morning, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Ambrose Parish at St. Monica’s Church, 1331 Middletown Avenue, Northford at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rushford, a local provider of addiction and mental health treatment.
