Obituary: Mary Catherine “Cathy” Kerrigan, 65, formerly of Branford
An Air Force veteran who served in Guam, she worked for Meijer Stores for 35 years and was gifted at creating beautiful needlepoint pieces.
Mary Catherine “Cathy” Kerrigan of Grand Chute, Wisconsin, formerly of Branford, died Wednesday October 25, 2023 in Wisconsin.
Cathy was born May 20, 1958 in New Haven, a daughter of the late John F. “Jack” Kerrigan, Sr. and Nan Walsh Kerrigan. She was a graduate of the Pomfret School and Lasell Jr. College. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Guam. She worked for Meijer Stores for over 35 years, rising to the position of Overnight Stocking Manager and was crucial component in the expansion of Meijer stores into Wisconsin. Cathy was gifted at creating beautiful needlepoint pieces for family and friends.

She is survived by her step-mother Mabel “Sis” Kerrigan of Branford, and her siblings, Elizabeth A. (Richard) Johnson of Ellicott City, MD, Mark W. (Fabian Molina) Kerrigan of New York, NY, William R. (Amy) Kerrigan of Branford and Maureen (Tim)
Shields of Branford, her sister-in-law Emily Kerrigan, many nieces and nephews and her lovable Irish Terrier “Blarney”. She was predeceased by her brother John F. Kerrigan, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven, at a time to be announced.
