Obituary: Robert J. McFarland, Jr., 61, of Branford

Robert J. McFarland, Jr. of Branford, died Monday December 4, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice. He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Johnna Montesano McFarland.

Bob was born December 20, 1959 in New Haven, son of the late Judith Chomicz Mahan. He served in the U. S. Army. Bob worked for Statewide Meats and Poultry for over 26 years, retiring as General Manager. Bob was a very involved father and grandfather, coaching his sons’ sports teams and never missing any of his grandchildren’s events. He enjoyed attending classic car shows and playing golf with his boys.

Besides Johnna, he is survived by his children, Tiffany King of Branford, Robert E. McFarland (Megan Butler) of East Haven, and Ryan J. (Ashley) McFarland of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Jayden and Cameron King and Sawyer McFarland; his sisters, Kim (Monte) Wayne of Clinton and Kelly Mahan of North Haven. He is also survived by his special uncle Peter Panaroni, Jr. and his special cousin Sandra (Gary) Testut.

Visiting hours are Saturday morning from 9:00 – 11:00, with a service at 11:00, in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford.
