Obituary: William Fred Nelson, 65, of Branford
Will, known for his witty sense of humor and kind heart, was a successful software engineer and marketing director for many years.
BRANFORD, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) William Fred Nelson, 65, of Branford, passed away on March 6, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side.
Will was born on April 22, 1956 in Chicago, IL to the late Morton Benedict Nelson and Joan George Coyle.
Left to carry on his memory are his loving sisters Julia Ann Nelson of Haddam, CT, Barbara Lou Nelson of Krakow, PL, beloved life partner Margaret (Marti) Tito of Branford, CT, his daughter Dr. Brittany Colleen Nelson, her husband Marc Troxel of Irvine, CA and Brianna Nelson of CA. He is predeceased by his daughter Lauren Nelson.
Throughout his successful career, Will was a software engineer and marketing director for several start-up companies throughout the country. He was also a USAF Vietnam era and a National Guard Veteran. Will enjoyed science fiction movies, cooking, playing Black Jack, and traveling as well as spending time with his family and his loyal dog Lucy.
He had a witty sense of humor and a kind heart. He will be deeply missed.
His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Yale New Haven Hospital’s MICU for their excellent care of him.
The visiting hours will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven.
