Heads-Up, Branford: Part Of Montowese Street Closing For 2 Weeks
Starting Monday, South Montowese St. is closed at Sybil Creek Bridge: "Absolutely no traffic will be able to travel over the bridge," per PD
BRANFORD, CT —Beginning Monday, Oct. 17, Route 146, South Montowese Street, will be closing at the Sybil Creek Bridge as part of the bridge replacement project, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Police said that "absolutely no traffic will be able to travel over the bridge."
In a Facebook post, Branford police noted the best alternate route, as highlighted in maps on the Facebook post below.

"But please keep in mind this will add a good amount of time to your commute," police said. "Please factor that time in and be mindful of all traffic laws and increased traffic on the detour route."
This is particularly important for residents in the Indian Neck area, Limewood/Sybil area, and Pine Orchard Road area, police said.

The closure is expected to last 14 consecutive days.
