Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Registrar of Voters 2007-2023

Why are you seeking this office?
I’m a lifelong citizen of Branford. I’m committed to making Branford the best town possible. I have the talent, compassion, commitment, and credentials to be an effective member of the Board of Education.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Preparing our students for the future where AI will be an integral part of our society.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I’m a retired public school teacher with a computer background who knows the challenges and rewards teachers and students face in a classroom environment.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Since I retired from the State Technical High School system, I’m interested in improving opportunities for those students who have decided not to pursue a college degree after graduation from high school.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As previously stated, I’m a retired public school teacher. I also am a retired Registrar of Voters. As registrar I was able, with my team, run fair, timely and accurate elections during super storm Sandy, a Halloween snow storm, power outages, system upgrades and a pandemic.
I know how to handle crises.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
My grandfather said, “You never do this alone. The path you take is never straight. Be open to advice.”

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
My family has a long time commitment to this town.
Without going into an extensive history of that commitment, let me just say in 1899 my great grandfather was elected to the Branford Board of Education. He wanted to make sure my grandmother graduated from High School, which she did.
