Party Affiliation:
Republican
Occupation:
Director of Public Policy and Communications at the GNHCC for over a decade
Family:
A brother, Tommy and his wife Jamesha, and a sister, Natalia, who was recently engaged to Paul. But most importantly, her family is blessed with a pooch named Maverick!
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No
Previous public office, appointive or elective:
First elected to the RTM in 2021, I am currently the Republican RTM Leader.
Why are you seeking this office?
Like Jeff Vailette, I am committed to providing tax relief to all our residents, investing in our schools, and ending childhood bullying---inside the classroom and out! I will partner with Jeff to lead the effort to find ways to end bullying and to build responsible budgets that protect our Rainy Day Fund. Finally, I am running to bring the voice of a new generation of citizens to Town Hall. Young people and working families deserve as much attention as anyone in out Town.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
As someone who was bullied in school, the effort to end childhood bullying, invest in our public school infrastructure, and keep property taxes low for working families is crucial.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am not running "against" someone...I am running "for" the people of Branford.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Tax relief, protecting the Rainy Day Fund, and keeping Branford a great place to work, live, and play.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My work on the RTM, my success as a communications professional, and my experience working with municipalities and local businesses as part of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce has more than adequately prepared me for this job!
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
My Dad always told, "swing for the fences." I have carried that with me since I was a child and have never been afraid to work hard and go for it! That's the energy and enthusiasm I will bring to the job on Day One...and every day.
