Person Inside Home Seriously Injured After Car Crashes Into Residence In Branford, Officials Say

Following an evaluation, the local Building Inspector deemed the home uninhabitable.

BRANFORD, CT — A person was seriously injured after a car crashed into a home, fire officials said.

At 2:07 a.m. Sunday, Branford Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the area of 11 Brushy Plain Road for a reported motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle that had reportedly left the roadway, rolled over, and struck a residence, fire officials said.

Officers and medics entered the home, where they located the lone occupant, who was lightly entrapped and seriously injured, officials said.

Branford Fire Department paramedics provided on-scene emergency medical care, and the patient was transported by a Guilford Fire Department ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital by a Branford Fire Department ambulance.

The residence sustained significant structural damage. Following an evaluation, the Branford Building Inspector deemed the home uninhabitable.

Branford Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident. Anyone with information and all media inquiries related to the investigation should be directed to the Branford Police Department. The current conditions of the patients are unknown. No injuries to emergency responders were reported.
