BRANFORD--A Branford man will serve a reduced sentence after taking a plea deal for dismembering a man's body, police and officials say.
According to The New Haven Register, Thomas Malinka took a plea deal on Friday and will serve 12 years in prison under the deal.
The Register reports that Malinka plead guilty to first-degree larceny and tampering with evidence and will lead authorities to the dismembered body of John Deveau. A murder charge was dropped under the deal, The Register reports.
