Ray Dunbar Retires From Branford PD After Distinguished Career
After 34 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Branford, Captain Raymond Dunbar retired Friday

BRANFORD, CT -After 34 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Branford, Captain Raymond Dunbar retired Friday from the Branford Police Department.
On the department’s Facebook page, the police said the following about his service:
“He proudly served his country in the Navy, before joining the Branford Police Department in 1985. Dunbar received past promotions to Sergeant in 2000, Lieutenant in 2003 and to then to Captain in 2012.

“Captain Dunbar had many roles throughout his career. He has been a SWAT team member, a police boat operator and proudly managed the fleet of police vehicles amongst numerous other duties. The list goes on and on!
“Dunbar has served as an RTM member in the Town of Branford for approximately two decades. He is moving onto the next chapter of his life after being chosen as a Democratic nominee for the Board of Selectman.
