Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
My mom takes pride in her job to such great extents, like I have never seen. She is past retirement age by a few years and keeps on going. In a time when she should be home in this pandemic due to her own risk factors, she is on the front lines, working very long hours every single day. Although, she owns an agency, she is right there hands on with her employees caring for people every day from before dawn to well past dark. She has taken on additional tasks for weeks now due to visitor restrictions and done everything in her power to keep everyone safe out of the kindness of her heart. To this day everyone is healthy in the facility she works in. The efforts and sacrifices she makes are not new to her. This is what she has always done for decades. She has always put her patients first. She is the most self-sacrificing person I know and an excellent caregiver. She does not complain about what she has to do, she knows how important it is and she just does it. Her and her employees have gone above and beyond in this crisis to keep people's family members safe. They have taken precautions, extended themselves tirelessly to care for the vulnerable. I'm grateful to have a mother like this, who has set an example of what it is like to be a caring and compassionate person. When I talk to her she assures me she is healthy and tells me not to worry about her. Protecting others is what she has always done, and now she plays a huge part in keeping COVID-19 away from others. I want her to know how incredibly proud her family is of her and the commitment she has to serving others is impeccable. She is our Hero.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Self-sacrificing, Compassionate
