Town Opens Community House As Cooling Center
But don't show up if you're sick, have been in contact with someone who is, or have traveled from one of the states on CT's travel advisory.

BRANFORD, CT —The town announced Wednesday that due to current power outages, the Joe Trapasso Community House has opened as a cooling center for Branford residents.
But town officials said, "Do not visit the facility if you are sick or have been in contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days, or have traveled to a state that is on Connecticut’s travel advisory list."
For those residents in need who are not sick or been in contact with someone who is, they should, "ring the doorbell" located at the rear entrance of the center located at 46 Church St. when they arrive.

Strict adherence to COVID-19 safety guidelines is a must
· Have your temperature checked upon arrival.
· Sign in by providing your name and contact information.
· Use hand sanitizer upon entry.
· Wear a face covering at all times while inside the building (unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing one).
· Practice social distancing at all times and maintain a 6 foot distance between you and others.
If you fail to comply with the above protocols you may be asked to leave the facility, a statement from the town reads.
