Town Opens Warming Centers Ahead Of Arctic Blast

The Community House, James Blackstone and Willoughby Wallace memorial libraries will remain open Friday & Saturday during specific hours.

The Community House will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday & Saturday. James Blackstone Memorial Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday & Saturday. Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library will be open on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 pm.

BRANFORD, CT — As frigid temperatures are expected to impact Branford over the next couple of days, the town announced that the following locations will serve as warming centers during this extreme cold event

  • Community House located at 46 Church Street will remain open on Friday and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • James Blackstone Memorial Library will remain open on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library will remain open on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The town notes that people who are sick or have been in close contact with someone that's tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days, not visit any of the sites. Those who need emergency temporary shelter please call 2-1-1 or 203-481-4248 for assistance.
