UPDATE: Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Crash in Branford Sunday

BRANFORD, CT - The Branford Police Department in conjunction with the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit (SCCTU) is investigating a serious injury motor vehicle accident that occurred on November 4, 2018 at approximately 8:20AM.

A white Ford Super Duty pickup truck, operated by a white male, struck a bicyclist on Boston Post Road (Route 1) by the intersection of Featherbed Lane.

The pickup truck then fled from the scene eastbound on Route 1. We are asking the public for help in an attempt to locate the vehicle and white male operator.

The pickup truck has damage to the passenger side headlight assembly area.

The bicyclist was seriously injured and transported to the hospital. If anyone witnessed the accident or has any information to assist with the investigation, please contact Detective Art Ferris or Officer Christopher Romanello at (203) 481-4241.

The busy Featherbed Lane was still roped off by police tape in the early afternoon hours Sunday as cars were forced were to detour around the crash scene.
