Update on Branford Chuck's Margarita Restaurant Site

BRANFORD, CT - Restaurants come and go all the time and the town of Branford certainly has more than its share of them. But the closing of one restaurant late last year generated more social media talk than any other - Chuck's Margarita Grill off of Exit 55.

The restaurant shut its doors suddenly early last October - with no warning. It's been several months since the closing and Patch checked in with the man who is in charge of finding a new tenant for the space,

Joe Granato didn't have a lot to say last week when he was contacted - but he did say this:

"Lots of people looking - No deal yet."

In earlier interviews, Granato said he was looking to place a "well-known" name there, perhaps an "Mexican, Italian or Indian restaurant."

The location does come with challenges, Granato said.

"It's a large place," he said, "and large places really aren't in vogue right now. On the other hand it is a great location and I do expect we will be getting somebody in there relatively soon."
