3 Frozen Puppies Found Dead In Plastic Bags In Bridgeport: Police

The animals were found Wednesday near the intersection of Newfield Avenue and Orange Street, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Three frozen puppies were found dead in plastic bags in Bridgeport on Wednesday, and authorities are investigating the gruesome discovery.

Bridgeport police were alerted about the deceased animals at about 12:30 p.m. The three were discovered in black and white garbage bags next to fencing near the intersection of Newfield Avenue and Orange Street.

"The puppies appear to be newborns, estimated between 1-5 days old at the time of death," Tiadora Josef, the city's director of Public Information, wrote in a statement. "Necropsies of the puppies are pending."

Desmond's Army, the animal legal advocacy group, is offering an award for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of whoever is responsible.

Additionally, Bridgeport Animal Control and the police department are asking for the public's help in solving the case.
