Bridgeport Nursing Home Fined: Report

The home was among four fined by the state's Department of Public Health for various lapses of care.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport nursing home has been fined for two separate instances earlier this year that resulted in lapses of care, reports the Connecticut Health I-Team. The report indicates Bridgeport Manor was fined $1,940 for the two instances.

The first was on Jan. 14, when a nurse aide found a resident slumped in a wheelchair with the chair's safety belt around their neck. According to the citation, the wheelchair's seatbelt was choking the resident.

Investigation found the staff noticed the seatbelt wasn't working properly and failed to report it.
