Conn. officer's swift action spared stabbed colleague from more serious wounds, IG says (police1.com) — State investigators have ruled a Bridgeport officer was justified in shooting a man who stabbed a fellow officer in the neck during an October 2024 call on Terry Place. The inspector general’s report, based on body camera footage and interviews, says the quick actions of Officers Jesse Jimenez and Jah’maine Mercer likely prevented more serious injuries.

Sunday's Connecticut high school roundup: Trumbull wins Queen Gambit wrestling meet (ctpost.com) — Bridgeport Co-op’s girls wrestlers scored 15 team points at Sunday’s Queens Gambit tournament in Milford, where Trumbull captured the overall title. Several nearby schools, including Stratford, Bunnell, and Fairfield programs, also placed strongly, highlighting the rapid growth of girls wrestling across southern Connecticut.

Shelton woman seriously injured in Stratford rollover crash on Route 15, police say (middletownpress.com) — A serious overnight rollover crash on the Merritt Parkway in Stratford left a Shelton woman badly injured and taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport for treatment. State police from Troop G, based in Bridgeport, say her car went airborne after striking a sign and guardrail near Exit 36, closing the off-ramp for several hours during the investigation.
