BRIDGEPORT, CT — State police say a young girl was sexually assaulted by a bus driver from Bridgeport in February while she was riding the bus, and that the man has been arrested. Nearly four months after the alleged assault, Luis E. Cruz, 39, turned himself into state police Wednesday night following a lengthy investigation.

The eleven year-old girl told police that Cruz, a bus driver for Connecticut Transportation Solutions, LLC, touched her inappropriately on Feb. 28.

Cruz was charged with sexual assault in the fourth degree, risk of injury to a minor and illegal sexual contact with a victim less than the age of 16. He was held on a $20,000 bond and due in Danbury Superior Court Thursday.
