Carol McGuinness Finn, of Bridgeport & Milford, passed March 3, 2025

A maternity nurse at Bridgeport Hospital for over 40 years, Carol was a beloved mother and wife with a strong faith in God.


The family of Carol Ann Finn are saddened to announce her passing on March 3, 2025 at the age of 85. Carol was born in the Bronx, New York to the late Thomas and Mary McGuinness.

Carol graduated from St. Catherine’s Academy and The Foundling Nursing School, then moved to Bridgeport, Ct after meeting and marrying her beloved, John V. Finn Sr., where he was employed as a Bridgeport Firefighter for 31 years until his passing. Carol found employment as a maternity nurse at Bridgeport Hospital and continued to work there for over forty years until retiring in 2003.

Together John and Carol served their community through their employment and many sound organizations. Carol served on the Madonna Guild at St. Ambrose Parish and her and John ran social dances for years at their parish to support St. Ambrose School.

Carol was predeceased by her husband John. She leaves behind many loved ones; her children, John V. Finn Jr. and his wife Carla, Karen Hansen and her husband Richard and Ginger Finn and her husband Chris; her grandchildren, Richard Hansen III (Kara), John Finn III and Carmella Finn and Melanie, Nicole and Katie Walsh; her great grandchildren, Eric, Freya, Joey, Jacob and Hadley. Carol also had loving siblings who all passed on earlier, her brothers Terrance and Thomas McGuinness and sisters Betty (McGuinness) McDonough and Mary (McGuinness) Bongo. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Carol.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Gabriel Parish, 26 Broadway, Milford, CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Saint Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave, Stratford, CT 06615.
